Blankfort begins by recalling Gulf of Tonkin lie to expose administration allegation of Syrian use of sarin gas as a lie. He notes that LBJ immediately countermanded JFK's order to begin withdrawing troops from Vietnam. He compares Gulf of Tonkin with the 9-11 PNAC Pearl Harbor to launch neocon agenda calling for renewed dominance of American power (to benefit Israel) beginning with the overthrow in Iraq and destabilization of Middle East,
He rips into NPR's Lulu Garcia Navarro for inviting Paul Wolfowitz on last Sunday's Weekend Edition to give his opinion on US attack on Syria but lets him off the hook on Iraq.
He then cites and quotes from beginning of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Peace memo to Trump expressing their disbelief of allegations that Syria carried out a gas attack (see Consortium News.Org) and then goes on to quote at length retired Col, Pat Lang point by point refutation of the allegation (on PopularResistance.Org), noting that the media will ignore it.
He goes on to quote from Owen Jones in the Guardian that the press that Trump denounced as liars is now applauding him and cites examples leaving Blankfort to suggest that the establishment media, with its long history of lying, is indeed an enemy of the people.
Blankfort concludes my mentioning two conference that took place in March in Washington dealing with the Israel Lobby, one that the media totally ignored, âThe Israel Lobby and American Foreign Policy,â sponsored by Irmep, the Inst. For Research: Middle East Policy and the Washington Rept. On the Middle East which featured Ilan Pappe, Hanan Ashrawi, John Mearsheimer and other Middle East experts which can be viewed at irmep.org in part or in its entirety.
The other, far larger, AIPAC's annual policy conference was another, Nuremberg style affair, designed to re-enforce its control over Congress, it's most important occupied territory.
