This week we turn The Q over to one of of our preferred customers! Kevin Dillon, the Wizzard of Wexford takes the reigns and pulls out a personal favorite, HOT FUZZ the 2007 film from writer/director Edgar Wright. Goes something like this… Top London cop Nicholas Angel is good! SO good in fact, he’s too good! And unfortunately making the rest of the force look bad! To remedy the situation, he’s reassigned to the quiet and crime free town of Sandford. There he’s paired with new partner Danny Butterman, who endlessly questions him on the action lifestyle, something he’s only seen in movies. Everything seems dull for Angel, until two actors are found decapitated. It’s called an accident, but Angel isn’t going to accept that, especially when more and more people turn up dead. Soon, Angel and Danny clash with everyone, whilst trying to uncover the truth behind the mystery of the apparent “accidents”, and maybe the boring town of Sandford needs him more than anyone originally thought. Upon it’s release in 2007, Hot Fuzz was met with rather good reviews from fans and critics alike – and is generally regarded in equal esteem as Shaun of the Dead – the film that opened the door for this sophomore effort from Write and Pegg.. We know Kevin Dillon likes this, listen to see if we agreed. That, plus our Top 3 “Buddy Cops” in movies.
Please feel free to use and play the show. The guys here at The Q ask only that if you play the show on a radio station, please give us a shout at theqfilmcast@gmail.com so that we can add you to the growing list of listener stations!
