July 8, over 30,000 prisoners in 2/3 of California prisons began a hunger strike to end the torture of long-term solitary confinement. Thousands still refuse food. Talking about this are Dr. Antonio Martinez and Gregory Koger. Dr. Stenger, experimental physicist, joins us to talk about his latest book, God and the Atom: From Democritus to the Higgs Boson: The Story of a Triumphant Idea. He chronicles the history of the particulate atom and how it strengthens the scientific basis for atheism.
