Dear All, I interviewed Will Parrish about his experience stopping a highway expansion for 11 days by sitting 50 feet up in heavy equipment. This occurred in Willits CA where a strongly opposed city bypass is being built by Caltrans, permanently destroying wetlands, forests, and valley floor. Many people have been arrested sitting in trees and for attempting to supply activists with food and water. The California Highway Patrol is the state militia and they are performing military style "extractions" of protestors. I asked Will why he took this action, and how it affected him. This interview was conducted after his release from jail and the day before his arraignment. Will is 31 years old, a California native, and a committed environmentalist.
