On the Monday, July 9, 2012, Climate Justice Forum radio program, Wild Idaho Rising Tide (http://wildidahorisingtide.org/) activists heartily welcome Leah Marsters, a clean energy associate with Vermont Public Interest Research Group (VPIRG), who championed with a half-dozen conservation organizations the first statewide ban on hydraulic fracturing (“fracking”) by natural gas companies. Leah discusses the background and evolution of this successful campaign and the influence of the groundbreaking Vermont law on fracking restrictions in other jurisdictions. The show, originally broadcast between 7:30 and 9:30 pm PDT live at 92.5 FM and online at KRFP Radio Free Moscow (http://radiofreemoscow.org/), also covers regional and continent-wide climate activism news.
Helen Yost of Wild Idaho Rising Tide offers news and conversations with climate change activists and scientists about corporate dirty energy projects and citizen resistance, interspersed with protest songs and descriptions of grassroots direct actions and community initiatives.
