We take an updated look at the weaponization of the law by Israel's Lawfare Project, which has launched an offensive against organizations and projects that support the Palestinian resistance to Israeli occupation of their homeland. We focus on the analysis and significance of the lawsuit that Jewish National Fund brought against the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights, a coalition of pro-Palestinian organizations here in the US.
We join the US Campaign's executive director, Ahmed Abuznaid, and their Attorney Diala Shamas of the Center for Constitutional Rights. The conversation is kicked off by Foundation for Middle East Peace’s Lara Friedman.
UPDATE: Since our initial report aired 3-5-2023, the Jewish National Fund has now lost at both District and Appellate Court levels. Nonetheless, on 12-23-2023, JNF filed a petition for writ of certiorari, hoping for review at the hard-right-dominated US Supreme Court.
