It calls upon English and Welsh authorities to create compulsory registers of children who are educated outside of brick-and-mortar schools. Attendees protested “repressive legislation, which would significantly compromise their way of life,” said Rabbi Asher Gratt, a co-organizer of the protest and a community activist who has promoted religious and educational causes for 50 years. “Parents have the right to stand up and say, ‘Enough is enough.’ Parents know what is best for their children. Savile was arrested for molesting minors at least six times BEFORE 1978 – conformed by West Midlands vice squad officers to Covenry journalist Chris Youett. But with little official commentary from Moscow or Kyiv about the Russian strikes on targets across Western Ukraine, which took place on the night of May 13, 2023, striking images of a huge explosion recorded near Khmelnytskyi added fuel to social media speculation and resurrected existing narratives about the so-called “depleted uranium” shells. A video of a huge fireball appearing on the horizon has been shared widely on social media over the past 48 hours, with several reports in English, Ukrainian and Russian media geolocating the blast to an area near Khmelnytskyi, the administrative center of the Khmelnytskyi Oblast, about 100 miles from Ukraine’s border with Moldova. “According to information, the value of the ammunition destroyed in the Khmelnytsky ammunition depot is about 500 million dollars,” said a post by Spriter, viewed nearly 7 million times. “Another shot from Khmelnitsky shows huge mushroom cloud rising into the sky after Russian Aerospace Forces hit Ukrainian military objects in the city earlier in morning,” said a post by Trollstoy that received nearly 230,000 views.
“The Russians smoked a huge amount of American and European tax money in Ukraine’s Khmelnitsky,” another post claimed. “Hearing rumors that there was a big stockpile of depleted uranium ammunition in the warehouses that got blown up. Pretty big oof if true,” tweeted Russians With Attitude, an account known to share pro-Kremlin propaganda. The sheer ferocity of the blast, including the sinister-looking mushroom-like cloud of smoke rising in its aftermath, also fueled unverified claims about various types of munitions that could have been blown up and nuclear-weapon-related speculation. “If the NATO arms depots that Russia is blowing up contain depleted uranium munitions as supplied by the UK those areas of Ukraine may become hotbeds for lung cancer and birth defects as the dust from those exploded DU [depleted uranium] munitions can contaminate large areas of land for decades,” wrote Kim Dotcom, a prominent anti-globalist commentator and conspiracy theorist. Other accounts on Twitter and Telegram posted charts of purportedly “rising radiation levels” that, they claim, were observed in the hours following the strike. These were amplified by multiple reports in Russian media outlets. Some posts referenced and shared graphs taken from SaveEcoBot, a Ukrainian service monitoring nuclear radiation levels across the country, as well as graphs attributed to the European Commission. “Gamma radiation In #Khmelnitsky, Western Ukraine, after the explosion of an ammunition depot with reportedly depleted uranium weapons,” a tweet by another pro-Moscow account claimed. A number of these sensationalist and incendiary claims were quickly picked up and amplified by U.S.-based social media accounts, including right-wing commentator Chuck Callesto and the Gateway Pundit publication. What We Know, What We Don’t – While not all of the facts and information about the multiple strikes on Western regions of Ukraine have been fully established, there are several elements to the viral conspiracy narrative that are provably false, misleading or lack evidence. First of all, the shelling, which took place in the early hours of Saturday, May 13, was widely reported in local and international media, with officials on the ground saying that at least 21 civilians were injured in the attack that involved multiple drones and missiles. Local authorities said that schools and medical institutions, administrative buildings, industrial facilities and private homes were damaged by the explosions…..

Futurist and computer scientist Ray Kurzweil has made some predictions about when artificial intelligence (AI) will reach the singularity – which is a hypothetical point in time where technology growth is out of control and irreversible. He believes that AI will catch up with true human intelligence in 2029, with immortality being possible the following year in 2030, reports indy100. Kurzweil explained to Futurism: “2029 is the consistent date I have predicted for when an AI will pass a valid Turing test and therefore achieve human levels of intelligence. “I have set the date 2045 for the ‘Singularity’ which is when we will multiply our effective intelligence a billionfold by merging with the intelligence we have created.” This isn’t the first time the scientist has shared his predictions about the future of technology. Back in 1990, he foretold that a computer would be able to beat a human at chess by the year 2000, which turned out to be accurate. He also envisioned that smartphones would end up being an integral part of our lives. Speaking on a podcast with fellow computer scientist Lex Fridman, Kurzweil explained his views on immortality. He believes we will be able to “advance human life expectancy” by “more than a year every year and I think we can get there by the end of this decade”. He’s predicted that nanobots in our blood will keep us healthy, and that we will also be able to ‘upload’ our memories and thoughts into the cloud and keep them forever. While immortality may indeed be possible in a few years’ time, it seems more difficult than ever for Glaswegians as it was recently revealed that residents of Scotland’s largest city have the lowest life expectancy in the UK. A study by The Times found that the 10 areas of the UK’s 650 parliamentary constituencies were found to have the lowest life expectancy all came from Scotland. It was found that Glasgow has an average life expectancy of 76 years, a whole 12 years younger than the best area for life expectancy – Hampstead in London – where it is 88.

UK’s first driverless bus service starts taking passengers The UK’s first autonomous bus service has begun taking paying passengers across the Forth Road Bridge. The vehicles have two members of staff – a safety driver who can take control of the vehicle and a “captain” to sell tickets and provide customer service. The Stagecoach service, from Ferrytoll Park and Ride in Fife to Edinburgh Park Transport Interchange, will operate on a trial basis until 2025 as part of the CAVForth project. A fleet of five Alexander Dennis Enviro200AV buses will cover a 14-mile route, in mixed traffic, at up to 50mph across the bridge. While buses generally have just one driver, the captain is on board to demonstrate what a full-size autonomous bus may feel like in the future when the buses can operate with one member of staff who can leave the cab as the computer drives. It is hoped autonomous buses will improve safety by reducing reaction times, and improve efficiency by optimising acceleration and deceleration which, it is hoped, will deliver significant energy savings and reduced wear and tear on the vehicles. As media were shown the buses at an event last week, Stagecoach director Sam Greer said: “We’ll look to analyse the data, the reaction and feedback from passengers and the general public about acceptance of the technology and we’ll make a decision about how we use the technology in the future. “I would say to anyone who is a bit cautious about using the vehicle not to be, there is a full safety case that has been worked through.
RAF Hercules fleet is sold off, RAF Brize Norton may be closed – SAS and SBS will be ‘f****d’ when C-130J planes are sold, says RAF insider One RAF source described the decision to sell the fleet of reliable, efficient, and versatile C-130Js as one of the worst decisions made in the post-World War 2 era. A source from the RAF said the SAS will be “f****d” when the C-130J Hercules aircraft is replaced by the troubled Atlas A400M later this year. The Atlas A400M, made by Airbus, is reportedly still plagued by problems as fears grow the UK will be left “dangerously exposed” by cutting its fleet. Speaking to Sky, an RAF source said ditching the C-130J, built by Lockheed Martin, in favour of the A400M was “probably one of the worst decisions made in the post-World War 2 era”. Sources say up to two-thirds of the new fleet was listed as unavailable for flying missions in early May. The aircraft has reportedly yet to be cleared to perform all the “niche” functions required of it for special forces missions including dropping boats out of the back. The source said: “So that’s the SBS and certain parts of the SAS f****d”. The decision to switch to the A400M from the C-130J was made as part of a major defence review in 2021. As part of this review, the RAF agreed to retire its fleet of 14 C-130J aircraft within two years – 10 years earlier than planned – under cost-cutting pressure from then head of the Treasury, now Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak. Now RAF sources are concerned the decision to sell off the highly capable and reliable C-130Js at a time of global instability could leave the UK weak at a time when it should be strong. An RAF source said it leaves the UK “dangerously exposed” and leaves the country’s special forces “without the tools they need to perform their full role”.
Conservative MP Robert Courts, whose constituency covers RAF Brize Norton, said: “At a time when the air mobility force is being asked to do more – it is one of the most heavily tasked bits of defence – we are having less availability of people and of airframes to do it.” The lack of availability of the A400M has already begun to have an impact on the RAF’s capability, particularly in Sudan. A senior source said several of the A400Ms used in the evacuation of British citizens from Sudan caused damage to the runway at Khartoum. Furthermore, three of the four British A400Ms deployed in the country developed faults, while one of the aircraft will be left out of action for weeks. During the operation, none of the C-130s used became “unserviceable” according to sources, whilst one C-130J in an emergency standby role was used to deliver freight and troops to an RAF base in Cyprus as there were no A400Ms available. Not only do the A400Ms appear more brittle and less capable than the C-130Js they’re replacing, they allegedly used a lot more fuel. The A400M, built by the European aerospace and defence firm Airbus, is a generational upgrade, able to carry more, fly faster and go further. But it is much larger so less able to fit on all the different variety of landing strips used by the C-130, according to RAF sources. It also suffers from persistent problems with availability because of faults and other issues almost a decade after the RAF first started operating the aircraft. An internal document seen by Sky News, dated 5 May, 2023, listed the service state of the RAF’s transport fleet – a situation that fluctuates up and down. On that day, seven of the force’s 21 A400M aircraft were ranked as green, which meant serviceable – able to fly or on a mission already. Six were listed under a red-colour-coded column marked as “scheduled maintenance/unserviceable” – though one of the six was coloured grey. Red typically means out of action for a short period, an RAF source said. On the spreadsheet, a further three aircraft were colour-coded blue under a column entitled “depth maintenance”. This appears to signal a longer-term issue or maintenance work. The final five, also in blue, were listed as undergoing a “trial/upgrade” in Spain. By contrast, a separate document showed that six out of seven of the RAF’s remaining C-130 fleet were colour-coded green – ready for action or on operations. The seventh was marked as red but only because it was being readied for “disposal”.

The letter calls the war an “unmitigated disaster” and cautions that “future devastation could be exponentially greater as nuclear powers creep ever closer toward open war.” While condemning Vladimir Putin’s “criminal invasion and occupation,” the letter, which notes the serial invasions of Russia by foreign adversaries, encourages readers to understand the war “through Russia’s eyes.” “In diplomacy, one must attempt to see with strategic empathy, seeking to understand one’s adversaries,” according to the letter. “This is not weakness: it is wisdom.” “Since 2007, Russia has repeatedly warned that NATO’s armed forces on Russian borders were intolerable – just as Russian forces in Mexico or Canada would be intolerable to the U.S. now, or as Soviet missiles in Cuba were in 1962,” the letter reads. “Russia further singled out NATO expansion into Ukraine as especially provocative.” The missive, which appeared on page 5 of the Times’ print edition, lays out the history of warnings by key U.S. national security officials, politicians, and others about the dangers of NATO expansion in the late 1990s, and again in 2008 when then-U.S. Ambassador to Russia and current CIA director William Burns cautioned Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice against pushing for NATO membership for Ukraine.
TEN nations joining BRICS, pulling away from using Dollar – BRICS: 10 Asian Countries Agree to Ditch The U.S. Dollar – BRICS countries are looking to sideline the U.S. dollar by launching a new currency to settle international trade. The development challenges the dollar’s supremacy and could dethrone it from the global reserve status. The move is inspiring other developing Eastern countries to ditch the dollar and promote their native currencies for global trade. If the momentum continues, many more Eastern nations could join hands and end reliance on the U.S. dollar completely. The leaders of 10 Southeast nations and the members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have agreed to promote their native currencies for cross-border transactions. The 10 countries will reduce settling payments with the U.S. dollar and use their local currencies for transactions. The group of nations wants to “encourage the use of local currencies for economic and financial transactions.” The 10 nations that have decided to ditch the U.S. dollar are Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. The move will help these countries to end their dependency on the U.S. dollar and significantly boost their native currencies. The declaration accepted by the ASEAN nations said that their goal is to strengthen bilateral and multilateral payment activities. Trading in local currencies would be faster, cheaper, and easier to close deals than the usage of the U.S. dollar. The official declaration accepted by these 10 developing Eastern countries read, “We adopted the ASEAN Leaders Declaration on advancing regional payment connectivity and promoting local currency transaction to foster bilateral and multilateral payment connectivity arrangements to strengthen economic integration by enabling fast, seamless, and more affordable cross-border payments across the region.” In conclusion, apart from BRICS countries, now ASEAN nations will move away from the U.S. dollar. The academic debates over whether China’s GDP is larger than that of the USA are misplaced. GDP is largely worthless as a measure of a real economy. When measured in real physical economic production, China has left the USA and everyone else in the dust. Therefore, the future course of industrial production in China is vital to the future of the world economy. Globalization of the world economy made it so. Steel production is still the single best indicator of a growing real economy. In 2021, China produced more that twelve times the tonnage steel as the USA, over one billion tons. The USA, once world leader, managed a piddly 86 million tons. In tons of coal, China produces some 50% of world total coal. She controls 70% of world rare earth mining and over 90% of its processing, thanks to bizarre US policy actions going back several decades. China today is far the world’s largest motor vehicle producer, almost three times the size of the US at 27 million units annually, one third of world total in 2022. China is by far the largest producer of the essential cement for construction, and is the world’s leading aluminum producer. At 40 million tons in 2022, this compares to not even one million tons in the USA. It is also the world’s largest copper consumer. The list goes on. This is merely to suggest how essential the economy of China has been to world economic growth over the past two decades. A mere four decades ago China was insignificant in world real economic terms. So, if China goes into deep economic contraction, the effect this time will be global. And this is just what is now underway. Important to note, the contraction began well before the severe three-years of China’s zero covid lockdown. Simply put, China since the so-called Great Financial Crisis of 2008 managed to create a financial bubble the size of which the world has never before experienced. That bubble began to deflate, beginning in real estate, around 2019. The scale is systemic and is only beginning.
