Members of IBEW Local 1220 Radio and Television Broadcast Engineers strike at Chicago Public Television - WTTW. The union has represented production workers there for over 50 years with out a labor stoppage. Management at the station wants lower waged, unprotected workers to take over their jobs. The stations new corporate director has taken a hard nosed position, refusing to negotiate with the employees who reject her demand that they allow themselves to be replaced by non union workers. From the picket line Brett Lyons provides the details.

There's a "War on the Workers in the heartland" sings Anne Feeney. "These multi-national bastards don't use tanks and guns it true" though events in Ukraine prove the exception and Labor Historian Dr. Bill Peltz would point out that workers are at both ends of the gun. https://www.youtube.co/watch?v=uP3gyphVo8w
