A PRESS CONFERENCE in support of drone war whistleblower Daniel Hale is scheduled for 10 AM on Saturday, July 17, 2021 on The High Line at 10th Avenue and W. 30th Street in Manhattan, the site of the new Sam Durant sculpture - “Untitled (drone)”: https://news.artnet.com/art-world/high-line-plinth-sam-durant-drone-1958987
A choral presentation by the “Raging Grannies” will precede the press conference, and will start circa 9:45 AM.
Daniel Hale is facing sentencing on July 27, 2021 that could bring him 10 years in federal prison after he pled guilty to one charge under the Espionage Act for releasing government documents that revealed the gross human rights violations and war crimes of the U.S. killer drone program. More information on Daniel’s case can be found at Stand with Daniel Hale: https://standwithdanielhale.org/
This 2-minute plus video https://f.io/5s3ynVxJ summarizes Daniel’s situation and the deep public significance of his whistle-blowing action. It is representative of the many things that are being done to build public support for Daniel in a political case that is very much like the one facing Julian Assange, one that needs all the press attention that can be generated.
The press conference is sponsored by BanKillerDrones.org: https://bankillerdrones.org/

There are 3 versions of this press conference on the R4A server. Versions 1 and 2 are the full event, lightly edited for pacing and content, mostly removal of “um, uh, you know” and false starts. I didn’t add my own intro/outro to either of them. Version 3 is a 58 minute radio-ready edit.
Version 1: A -24 LUFS Mp3 optimized for RADIO PLAY; full event (59:17)
Version 2: A -19 LUFS Mp3 optimized for downloading onto a computer or mobile device for INDIVIDUAL USE. Identical content to Version 1, but a louder file encoded at a lower bitrate so it takes up less storage space.
Version 3: A -24 LUFS 58 minute Mp3 optimized for RADIO PLAY. Includes my added intro/outro.
