Stephen Gowans discusses two of his late-2016 articles concerning Washington's campaign to remove the Syrian government. As elsewhere, the U.S. has cultivated reactionary forces within the Islamic world to counter Arab efforts at self-determination and liberation.

The U.S. use of Saudi-aligned terrorists to remove Syria's government reflects Washington's century-long campaign against independent or socialist governments.

Recognizing the Syrian counter-revolution promoted by NATO is an important step towards ending war in the country.
