Published on 7 Sep 2015 Jeremy Corbyn came to Liverpool to attend a political rally at the Adelphi Hotel banquet room on 1st August (2015). He explained the principles which underpin policies he will promote if he is elected to lead the Labour Party on September 12 this year.
One and a half thousand people turned out to hear him speak about how Britain should be governed. He talked about the financial crisis, its causes, and the Conservative governments attack on Welfare and the disadvantaged members of our society.
He spoke of how neo-con policies employed by right-wing idealogues in Britain are destroying public services, our education system, housing and society itself. Jeremy talked about how Corporation Tax could be slightly increased to pay for university education to relieve the financial burden on students, and he outlined a responsible and sane Environmental policy.
Over the past three decades peoples rights and liberties have been eroded in Britain as a consequence of a seizure of power over legislative processes by Transnational Corporations and multinational financial organisations.
This country is gradually becoming a corporate state. The Industrial Security Complex is allowed to disregard the peoples right to Privacy. We are now the most surveilled country in the world. Ask yourself why?
Our right to a health service, free at the point of access, is being sold off to American Corporate interests whose intention is to monetise and exploit our people when they become ill.
People are being cast aside and forced into homelessness.
The gap between rich and poor is vastly increasing. Mr Smiths, laissez-faire system of market driven capitalist economics is definitely no longer sustainable (was it ever?).
A fresh approach (or a return to first principles) in politics is required to protect the peoples fundamental human rights and liberties which our people struggled to attain over the centuries.
Jeremy Corbyn is a champion of these fundamental rights, and is a breath of fresh air in a increasingly stagnant Labour Party. A return to social credibility is urgently required within the Party to arrest the current drift toward corruption and cooption toward neo-con policies forced through, against the peoples will by Blairite careerists who are destroying the peoples Labour Party and consistently failing to represent the best interests of the electorate.
Do we want a rotten system of representation similar to that which currently exists in the U.S of America and other Corporate states where profit margins, and not principles, matter more than the well being and security of the citizens of the nation?
Or do we want to be represented by honest and just members of Parliament who will fight for our rights and liberties against the growing demands of elites and the propertied class?
The people have an historic opportunity to support Jeremy Corbyn.
If the people continue to allow the electoral process and the nations politics to be dictated and corrupted by corporate forces operating within this country, our society will continue to career toward even greater crises, which will continue to erode and eliminate the very idea of Liberty (Human Rights) and Democracy.
