Your support is essential if the service is to continue, there are bandwidth bills to pay every month and failing disk drives to replace. Volunteers do the work, but disk drives and bandwidth are not free. Click on this bar to contribute, even a dollar helps.

Childhood cancer is an overwhelming diagnosis that affects everyone close to the child and their family. Connor’s Heroes is a non-profit that addresses the practical, emotional, and social needs of children with cancer and their families, providing support for the ~60 patients who are diagnosed and treated in Richmond each year. There are several ways for individuals and groups to volunteer: packing Heroes’ Bags and Backpacks (filled with distracting fun toys for the kids and helpful vouchers for the family’s day-to-day errands), delivering gifts or decorating rooms for kids at Massey’s Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, and mentoring patients and their siblings as Superheroes and Sidekicks. Upcoming endeavors include a care calendar to outsource basic tasks (like cooking meals, running errands, or mowing the lawn), to friends, families and volunteers. Connor’s Heroes has touched hundreds of lives and eased the practical burden of coping with pediatric cancer treatment by providing social support. For more information, visit
