Episode 16: The Unseen Takeover
Lion? Lamb? Nah, March came in like a smooth soul breakbeat on Unseen Legion Radio as DJ Al Jackson and trumpet man Josh Koslow brought their one-of-a-kind collaboration known as The Takeover into the KillRadio studio for a special live show. As excited as the ULR crew was, the reality more than exceeded our expectations. DJ Earl-E set the night off with a great musical vibe and The Reverend (DJ Al Jackson) and the Bishop (Josh Koslow) took it into the stratosphere. For about an HOUR. And yes, that's DJ Earl-E you hear on the harmonica interlude. Their set wasn't about songs as much as moods. It was flowing, sometimes meandering, sometimes bouncing, and always soulful. Josh played over some classic sounds and some grooves you've probably never heard before, and all the while kept it live.
Of course Michael Jackson gave us episode 8 of his storytime, DJJD and Earle& Prose's old friend Lyle Style called in, Al and Josh stuck around to chat for a bit and Bernie Mac closed out the night with a timeless performance. All for you. On another classic episode of Unseen Legion Radio. Enjoy!
