As part of Liberation Radio's Black History Month coverage of the struggle against police violence, we cover the case of Alan Blueford. He was killed by Oakland police officer Miguel Masso last May, and his family has sought justice as the department reportedly changed its account of what happened. Alan Blueford's mother, Jarelyn Blueford, addressed a forum hosted by Women Organized to Resist and Defend in San Francisco on Feb. 2. She shared her experience with attendees.

The police killing of former cop Christopher Dorner, along with Dorner's manifesto speaking out against law enforcement racism, has drawn scores of news reports and reactions on social media. Some pundits were aghast that there was public support for Dorner, but the situation has brought to light matters of race to the public view. Joining the program is Peta Lindsay, based in Los Angeles, to talk about the social media support, racism and police brutality.

This past weekend, the Party for Socialism and Liberation held its national congress. Last held in 2010, the congress is aimed at addressing political developments in the current climate as well as larger questions of building a party in the United States. Brian Becker joins us to discuss the event.
