When the occupying started the media ignored the occupyers, then once admitting that it existed many media outlets have criticized the movement. This criticism has ranged from shallow strawman arguments to useful critiques of the movement. Yet for the most part mainstream media has failed to understand just what the occupy wall street movement is about. Tim McSorley is an editor at the Media Co-op. Scott Price talked with Tim about his experiences in New York while attending the occupation; who was occupying? Who does the ideal of participatory democracy work and how does it drive the movement?
