The brutal military supremacy rule in Burma is the fundamental problem of the five-decade-long social, political and economic turmoil in Burma. The latest example of this is the military-engineered election to be held this coming November 7th, 2010.

Dr. Naing Aung is a prominent Burmese democracy leader in exile. He talks more about how the election is a part of legalizing the military rule and ensuring human rights abusers remain in power. Dr. Aung does not lose sight of the fact that democratic elections are not the only reparations that Burma needs, and that justice for all past violations on the Burmese people is crucial.
