The older archives (>10 years old) have been substantially recovered -- more than 23,800 files' worth -- and are now reachable through the search engine and via file download. Email here if you have any questions.
Your support is essential if the service is to continue, there are bandwidth bills to pay every month and failing disk drives to replace. Volunteers do the work, but disk drives and bandwidth are not free. We encourage you to contribute financially, even a dollar helps. Click here to donate.

If you or someone you know has a family story about the strike of 1913, the Italian Hall disaster, or Calumet in the old days, we'd love to hear it. We've received email correspondence from around the country and around the world, and we do our best to follow up on compelling leads and tips. Your stories are the stories we want to tell. Get in touch!
If you or someone you know has old family photographs or (above all) old motion picture footage of Calumet or the Copper Country before 1965 or so, please drop us a line. We are especially interested in old home movies of life in the UP. We are also interested in finding film or video footage of the Italian Hall demolition.
Most important of all, if you or your organization would like to make a tax deductible contribution to our project, please contact us. All contributions to the film should be made payable to our fiscal sponsor, The Center for Independent Documentary, with "1913 Massacre Film Project" on the memo line.

The Center for Independent Documentary is a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 institution. Your tax-deductible contribution will go directly toward meeting our production expenses.
Finally, as you may have already gathered, we could use some help with this website, everything from design to update to maintenance. Obviously while we are still raising funds for production, we can't put our scarce resources toward this website, but if you are a talented web designer / webmaster who would like to help us out, pro bono, drop us a line and point us to some samples of your work.
