Today we take a long look at the prison culture in Palestine in an interview with Ramzy Baroud, author of the book, These Chains will be Broken. The power of the book, as with this interview, are the individual stories of these incarcerated Palestinians. The injustices inherent in the Israeli Military justice system tell the real story of the horror of living under military occupation. Last Wednesday, Israeli forces arrested five Palestinian children, ranging between the ages of 8 and 13, in the South Hebron Hills as they picked the seasonal wild flowers to bring back home to their families. Eyewitnesses say the children were first attacked by Israeli settlers, and then detained by Israeli soldiers at the settlersâ demand. âThis was obviously an attempt by the settlers to intimidate the boys by engaging the soldiers. They didnât steal or damage anything. All they were doing was picking Akoub, which grows wild in the fields at this time of year. The children committed no crime. ..."
