The older archives (>10 years old) have been substantially recovered -- more than 23,800 files' worth -- and are now reachable through the search engine and via file download. Email here if you have any questions.
Your support is essential if the service is to continue, there are bandwidth bills to pay every month and failing disk drives to replace. Volunteers do the work, but disk drives and bandwidth are not free. We encourage you to contribute financially, even a dollar helps. Click here to donate.

The Green New Deal proposal has reframed social issues as ecological issues, and ecological issues as political issues. This panel explores the Green New Deal as a political battlefield, a space within which different ideas, proposals, and possibilities for managing the future come into play. We explore the role of agriculture, the global south, resource extraction, and paths to a sustainable and just future in light of the reshaping of the political battlefield through the Green New Deal proposals.

For the full edits (Versions 1 & 2), the Q&A starts at 00:17:21. As is common when audience questions are not spoken into a microphone, the audio quality of the questions is less than ideal. Not bad, though.

There are 4 versions of this Left Forum panel on the R4A server:

Version 1: Full edit for RADIO PLAY. You may want to add an intro etc.

Version 2: Full edit for INDIVIDUAL USE (downloading onto a computer or mobile device by the end user); a smaller, more compressed, louder file.

On 2/8/20 I added the following versions:

Version 3: A 58 minute edit suitable for RADIO PLAY as-is. Includes intro/outro etc.

Version 4: A 58 minute edit suitable for INDIVIDUAL USE.

You can use it to download all or part of the R4A Essential Dissent archive (in at least .wav format) via my OneDrive account, and I plan to continue to post new episodes to that account even if R4A at some point becomes non-functional.
