Kim Hicks recounts planning battles fought in 1960s and 1970s Bristol by her Civic Society parents Anne and Jerry. She compares those days to the resurgence of an apparent speculators free for all in Bristol under the present nominally Labour Party mayor Marvin Rees. This includes the controversial Western Harbour high rise proposals near Hotwells which including building on acres city owned open space.
