Global Community Radio is an internet based programming service which broadcasts two continuous program streams. These streams are available FREE OF CHARGE to any and all noncommercial campus, community and public radio stations anywhere in the world. Stations are cnouraged to use GCR as a unique programming source during times when no live or local programming is available. Stations have the option to use as little, or as much, of GCR's programming as they wish, and they can opt to use programming from just one stream, or from both streams, depending on the needs of their community. The GCR program streams are: GCR1 - News and More This stream offers intelligent, thought provoking discussion of many important issues that impact our world today. GCR1 also offers news broadcasts and feature programs in English from a variety of public and community radio stations from around the world, giving your listeners perspectives they are not likely to hear on other local radio stations. GCR2 - Where Music Matters This stream is for anyone who appreciates the full musical canon. We offer a full slate of hosted music shows, all arranged in a block style program schedule. The genres offered include Classical, Jazz, Acoustic, World Music, Blues, Oldies, Show Tunes, and Indie and Freeform Rock, along with a few other surprises along the way. All shows on GCR2 are fully hosted, so no automated playlists here! Our hosts are passionate, and know the music they love. This shows in their presentation.
