Jeff Biggers is introduced by Vince Emanuele who along with Sergio Kochergin started P.A.R.C. - a place where community and the commons can be reclaimed. Its a concept and a human need the philosopher Ivan Illiach addressed in his many works.
The reading is mix of performance and humor, and several friends contribute the voices of historical persons and even an odious Federal document; one eventually withdrawn due to the resistance of journalists and out spoken women who carried the fight from behind bars.
Biggers notes the confusion today in the fact that the much celebrated musical "Hamilton", celebrates a monarchist and and person who despised common people.

During the following discussion/question Vince mentions Jane McAlevey, organizer and labor scholar, whose work developed the organizing model that he notes successfully used by the Chicago Teachers Union and then in West Virginia by teachers in a state with a no strike law.
In a different recording, Olivia Morris, who participated in the WV teachers strike speaks about finding her own voice at a key moment, due in part to the deep organizing that preceded the state wide walk out. WV is complex geographically and politically. Differences due to that complexity had to be bridged among the teachers across 55 counties, who united in spite of the differences to strike.
