In the wake of The United Kingdom's historic vote on Brexit, and as negotiations on the Trans-Pacific Partnership are winding down, we have chosen to look at the question of democratic sovereignty within national bodies, including Canada, with Paul Hellyer. The Honourable Paul Hellyer served in the Canadian House of Commons as a Cabinet Minister under prime Ministers Louis St. Laurent, Lester Pearson, and Pierre Trudeau. IN this feature length interview, he talks about how the Free Trade agreements with the United States have undermined Canadian sovereignty, the re-direction of Canadian military and foreign policy, the economic consequences of borrowing from private banks versus the publicly owned Bank of Canada, as well as how the Trans-Pacific Partnership will finally dismantle whatever is left of Canada as a sovereign nation.
