Jan Johansson, Senior Researcher & Secretary General, Organization for European Interstate Cooperation, discussed the rise of the neo-fascist right and led a discussion of this problem. Johansson co-authored with Philip Lerulf, "Europe Deserves Better - A Study of Extremist Parties in Hungry, the Netherlands and Denmark". He outlined the spectrum of extreme right political parties active in the European Parliament, from the nationalist far right in England to the neo-Nazi Jobbik in Hungary and Golden Dawn in Greece, with an explanation of their differences. During his presentation he explains the title of the talk and the connection to the Swedish journalist and crime novel writer Stieg Larsson.
