WHEN: Monday March 24th, 2014 WHERE: 1 Trent Lane, Behind Creelman Hall TIME: 5pm - 7pm
*BACKGROUND*
Fuerza Puwersa and Growing Community Health work in alliance to promote the notion that individuals migrating to Ontario have equal access to health care services regardless of status.
We are a small group of folks passionate about migrant justice and believe that all people deserve the right to move and stay freely regardless of colonial border structures. In order to do this, we work inclusively to create communities that prioritize the dignity and agency of racialized working class people.
We also work to expose the injustices faced by (im)migrants, migrant workers and individuals without status and create campaigns that respond to these injustices.
With the goal of accessible health services, the bulk of our organizing is working with community members to identify gaps in local services and coordinate health clinics and health fairs to provide information, resources, and services.
Additionally, we develop and deliver interactive educational workshops in Spanish, English and other languages about wellbeing, occupational safety and sexual and reproductive health.
We hope to see you on March 22nd and the 25th to learn about your interests and share what we have been up to and how you can get involved!!
