Episode 55: 20,000 Leagues Under the Beat
It's no secret that UNSEEN LEGION RADIO is the stuff Hip-hop is made of. This week that was in full effect. No guests were scheduled, but along with your INASOULBIAN hosts DJ EARL-E, MC PROSE & YESKI ANOMIKS (and CHAOTIC LOGIC a litle later), F.E.M.A. KAMP was fully represented, with M.I.E., CHOIZE MAKU and DOLOW KIDD in the building, as well as ZELPH XIAR from the VERSENARIES. DJ Earl-E started us off with a great mix, but it was just a taste of what was to come.
BOB JAMES is a Grammy-winning composer and arranger whose songs have left an indelible imprint across many musical genres. Perhaps best known as the creator of the theme song for the TV show Taxi, his hip-hop bona-fides are also truly staggering. Earl-E took just one song, the classic NAUTILUS from his debut albim, ONE and put together a mind-blowing NAUTILUS SET: only hip-hop songs that used or sampled it. And he kept it in the air FOR OVER AN HOUR! Our cohost BIN GRIM called in to give his love and Earl-E had more Nautilus songs after that! It sparked us to the point that we had to end the night with a live 8-MAN ULr FREESTYLE SESSION. Even ECHO FACTORY producer RAY BEATZ got in on the action.
