Starting in January 2013 French forces along with an African intervention force took military action in northern Mali to stop Islamist fighters who took over the region a couple of months earlier. Canada has also vowed to help the mission with transport plains as well as special forces.

The question is: is this an action Canada should be involved in? Is intervention in Northern Mail the right answer? Or is this another civil war that western forces will be bogged down in? Derrick O'Keefe editor of Rabble.ca comes on live to talk with Scott Price on Canada's role in the intervention in Mali and Canadian foreign policy over the last decade.
