On the Nov 16th episode of Warning Shots Scott Price talks with John Schertow publisher and editor of Intercontinental Cry. Intercontinental Cry (IC) is an independent, volunteer-run magazine dedicated to the struggles of Indigenous Peoples world wide. John explains the indigenous struggles in Brazil, West Papua and Ethiopia.
In Brazil Indigenous Peoples throughout Brazil are mobilizing to repeal a dangerous new "anti-indian" law that decimates indigenous rights to land as guaranteed by Brazil's Federal Constitution and backed by international agreements such as ILO Convention 169 and the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
In West Papua Indonesia's counter-terrorism squad, Densus 88, has been accused of perpetrating a massive fraud that aims to dismantle the peaceful, pro-independence West Papua National Committee.
In Ethiopia Indigenous Peoples in Southwest Ethiopia have implicated the World Bank in grave human rights abuses that are being carried out as part of a resettlement programme headed by the Ethiopian Government.
