Patricia discusses her newest book-Midwife of Hope River. She has written two memoirs, "the Blue Cotton Gown" and "Arms Wide Open" and has spent over 30 years caring for women as lay-midwife, delivering babies in cabins and on communal farms in west virginia and later as a nurse-midwife in teaching hospitals and in a community hospital birthing center. She has been faculty of Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve University and most recently West Virginia University. She has created an uplifting novel that celebrates the miracle of life, and the world of women giving birth in their own beds, without hospitals or doctors. Response to Patsy's book phenomenal. Rights to publish have been sold in nine countries so far . . . including Denmark, Finland, France, Japan, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the UK Chosen as one of the "First Picks" this fall by Southern Independent Booksells Association.
