Short interviews with activists at the Occupy Oakland General Strike Nov 2nd. Being down-but-not-out, seeking climate justice, banking grabs, and all that.
All interviews by Karen Nyhus, media activist San Francisco, for Radio Ecoshock.
Other non-profit stations can use these interviews, so long as you leave Karen's credit in.
Big media doesn't like the Occupy movement. They bring us the voices of the Mayor and the Chief of Police.
We interview people who were there. As a peaceful crowd came back from the police violence that put veteran Scott Olsen in hospital, and horrified the country. During the evening, the crowd swelled in Oakland, and shut down the busy port.
Later, when most went home, there was some vandalism and confrontations with police. The next day the camp assembly apologized, cleaned up, and reaffirmed their non-violence.
You can sense the energy in these interviews. 16 minutes.
