Searching US Code yields the following hits: "marihuana" (53), "marijuana" (21), and "cannabis" (6). There are a lot more hits than codes explicitly cited in HB 2306. http://uscode.house.gov/search/criteria.shtml Rescheduling marijuana on the Controlled Substances Act will mean the prohibition in public housing and the Zero Tolerance contracts the government forces every business it can to sign will no longer apply to marijuana.

Thrust is to make it illegal for people to grow their own. To force people to purchase it from someone else in some synthetic, manufactured form. The people who have ruining your lives for decades are now going to control it and force you to buy it from them. That is the thurst of the movement, where 'our' organizations are leading us.

Robert Corey is in the latter camp, one of the most prominent figures in the movement in Colorado. Legalize 2012 Colorado has filed to enjoin the other camp from using the word "legalize" in relation to their Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol initiative as it is not that. Similar ploy as that used by Prop.19 in California where the media and everyone else is calling it legalization when luminaries such as Bill Panzer and Dennis Peron have declared publicly that it was anything but legalization. National organizations are selling prohibition as legalization in both California and Colorado, disenfranchising the grass roots.

People who are out to exploit marijuana for everything they can, to squeeze patients for every cent they can, are the only people who are putting any money into marijuana reform organizations. Only people paying taxes on marijuana are patients, the sick and dying while medical marijuana defendants are going begging for money for lawyers. Roger Mentch is only one example. Meanwhile, our organizations are calling for taxes and fees on medical marijuana, throwing money at the government, and planting money trees in Times Square.

Legislators see NORML as speaking for our entire movement and if that were the case before that is no longer the case with the defeat of this 1261 bill. Not even close. Are we winning the battle only to lose the war? In Ohio, national organizations are sponsoring an initiative to regulate marijuana like alcohol while grass-roots organizations are sponsoring a yet to be written initiative to legalize marijuana. The same dynamic that is playing out in California and Colorado.
1:06 - The surest and quickest way to legalize marijuana is to establish medical marijuana. When these laws come up, read the law. Don't trust these national organizations to do what's right or what's best for you.
1:09 - Two states allow medical use of marijuana for PTSD. California's initiative is the only law that wasn't written or strongly influenced by MPP. It is the only state that allows the medical use of marijuana for psychiatric conditions (any other condition for which marijuana provides relief) and the only state, other than Arizona, that allows its use for PTSD. California is the only state that does not give control of who may be a medical marijuana patient to the government, and it is the only state who's law was not a product of the Marijuana Policy Project.

Tardive dyskinesia: a disease caused only by pharmaceuticals. Imagine what people would say if marijuana caused anything remotely like tardive dyskinesia. In fact, marijuana stop tremors, including tardive dyskinesia. In minutes. ----- The atypical anti-psychotics were the bright new stars in the pharmaceutical industry's roster of psychotropic drugs - costly, patented medications that made people feel and behave better without any shaking or drooling. -----
"Shaking or drooling" is pharmalordspeak for tardive dyskinesia. ----- The use of psychoactive drugsâincluding both antidepressants and antipsychoticsâhas exploded, and if the new drugs are so effective, Angell points out, we should "expect the prevalence of mental illness to be declining, not rising." Instead, "the tally of those who are so disabled by mental disorders that they qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) increased nearly two and a half times between 1987 and 2007 - from one in 184 Americans to one in seventy-six. For children, the rise is even more startling - a thirty-five-fold increase in the same two decades. Mental illness is now the leading cause of disability in children."

According to a recent Columbia University study, the number of children and adolescents treated for bipolar disorder rose 40-fold between 1994 and 2003." And according to another study, "one in five children who visited a psychiatrist came away with a prescription for an antipsychotic drug." -----
While the article mentions that these drugs often make patients worse, it fails to explore the possibility that the increase in psychiatric disabilites (documented by SSI and SSDI claims) is the result of the use of these pharmaceuticals.
These drugs are causing the diseases for which they are being prescribed.
