First, In todayâs show: we take a closer look at the current nature of welfare assistance programs across Canada. We will hear from writer Aleksandra McHugh on that.
Then, the City of Vancouver has recently made two policy proposals, removing height restrictions for residential and office towers downtown and re-zoning parts of Chinatown and the Downtown Eastside. These proposals have been made quietly with no discussion of the social impacts and ripple effects of gentrification. We will hear excerpts from a recent public forum on this issue.
