In this presentation, Blake from Montreal describes the state of the world on the eve of the upcoming G8 summit. He describes the agenda of this meeting of the seven richest countries (plus Russia), and how this agenda relates to "free trade" in the Western Hemisphere, the Terror War, new capitalist plans for Africa, resistance in Latin America, and the global justice movement. This is an excellent summary of current events and how they all tie together.
Related presentations are also available online thanks to a speaking tour by the CLAC. (See http://www.radio4all.net/proginfo.php?id=4571 ) "CLAC" is the French acronym for "Anti-Capitalist Convergence". During April, several of their members toured southeastern Canada and the northeastern U.S. to explain the goals of the "Group of Eight". This is in anticipation of popular opposition during the G8 summit in Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada in late June 2002.
