First, health workers in the Philippines have been arrested and detained under trumped-up charges. We broadcast an interview we held with David Hendry of the local Alliance for People's Health. They held a picket outside the local Philippines Consulate.
Then, a close look at the federal Seasonal Agricultural Workers Program and the lives of the thousands of temporary foreign workers on BC farms. We spoke with Erykah Carmen del Fuchs, an organizer with Justicia for Migrant Workers.
Then, a poem "What the People Want" by local poet Roger Farr. Roger is editor of the magazine "PARSER: New Poetry and Poetics" and member of the Black Ink Writers Group.
Researching and writing by Maria Persdotter and Peter Driftmier. Production by Maria Persdotter, Peter Driftmier and Jessica Deacon.
Please let us know if you rebroadcast our work, but we would be more than happy to have it played.
