Jasmin Hristov is a PhD Candidate in Sociology at York University in Toronto, and author of the book "Blood and Capital: The Paramilitarization of Colombia" (Ohio UP/Between the Lines, 2009). She discusses the major theme of the book (the use of violence in the processes of capital accumulation) as well as the implications (political and economic) of the proposed Canada-Colombia Free Trade Agreement.
