We hear from Molly & Ollie on the fledgling Irish & Scottish Camps for Climate Action.
The Scottish camp supported a local campaign against the expansion of open-cast coal mining in recognised conservation areas. This landscape-destroying form of mining also seems to be linked high rates of respiratory disease amongst local residents.
The Irish camp focussed on the issue of peat-burning in three power stations. Peat is more carbon-intensive than even coal and the strip-mining of peat bogs is destroying a natural carbon sink as well as impacting on biodiversity.

The 300-350 Show is made for ResonanceFM in London and is syndicated free to not-for-profit community radio stations and independent media outlets around the globe.
The programme is named after what is now believed to the safe level in parts per million (ppm) of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. This finding is based on the work of James Hansen and his team in a paper titled "Target Atmospheric CO2: Where Should Humanity Aim." http://arxiv.org/abs/0804.1126
