The real deal about the supposed FDR coup is evasive, but some things are for certain: No one was indicted for an act that would have been considered treasonous and punishable by execution. FDR, the target, never pressed for prosecution. The FBI never pursued the case. Butler would never have lent himself to leading a coup on behalf of Wall Street. FDR was Wall Street and Wall Street was FDR. Why would The Street dump him when, through Executive Order and the Banking Act of 1933, FDR became the maleable tool and dictator he was meant to be?
