Women from the two womenâs prisons in Nova Scotia have contributed their poetry and art to a new book called Words Without Walls: Writing and Art by Women in Prison in Nova Scotia
The book was put together by Books Beyond Bars, a small grassroots organization that runs books exchange and writing programs in prisons in Nova Scotia.
Two of the contributors to the book talk about their writing, being incarcerated and read some of their pieces that appear in the book. Books Beyond Bars organizer, Sarah Evans, shares her thoughts about putting together the book and the role of writing for women in prison.
