Sima Zerehi speaks about the Harper government's Bill C-50 as an attack on immigrants and the need to mobilize against it.
produced by Pierre Loiselle at CKDU 88.1 FM
The Harper Conservative government is trying to sneak changes to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) through the House of Commons via Bill C-50 (which is the budget implementation act). These sweeping changes will give enormous powers to the Minister to decide which categories of immigration applications will be processed, and which would be ignored or discarded.

The STATUS NOW! Campaign in Defense of Non-Status Immigrants is a group of agencies, trade unionists, grass-roots groups, community organizations as well as immigrants, refugees and allies who have come together to mount a national campaign in defense of non-status immigrants.
