In the last programme both George Monbiot and the Centre for Alternative Technology outlined what the UK needs to do in order to play its part in the global challenge of avoiding dangerous climate change. New scientific finding are telling us we need to act faster than we previously thought and move rapidly to a world without fossil fuels by reducing our energy usage and powering our remaining energy use from renewable sources.
In this programme we hear from Olly and Sophie, both involved in the Climate Camp, about their analysis about why these changes arent being made and what we need to do to bring the changes about.
The Ways To Two Degrees debate was one of the highlights of this years camp for climate action. The Camp had three aims: to demonstrate sustainable living in action; to provide an extensive and varied programme of worshops relating to climate change; and to take direct action against the root causes of climate change.
The recording of the debate was made by Indymedia and has been specially edited for broadcast by Climate Radio.
