* Fresh Piece o Student Global AIDS Week + Mimi Melles of the University of Maryland's Student Global AIDS Campaign speaks on their recent week of awareness and action for AIDS and its significance. o SPECIAL ON GULF RECONSTRUCTION + We play Free Speech Radio News' radio documentary: The End of Charity. This is their synopsis: The impacts of Hurricane Katrina in the Gulf South were many and varied. The large number of evacuees and the stories of rooftop rescues were viewed widley. Less well known is that the hurricane and the flooding affected many public services that were already in danger, such as schools and hospitals. Among these is New Orleans' Charity Hospital, part of a system of free medical care for the poor in Louisiana that was unique in the United States. FSRN's Christian Roselund brings us this eulogy: The End of Charity.
