Joe Polaischer and his wife Trish Allen run Rainbow Valley Farm in Matakana, New Zealand. Their small farm is a model permaculture farm that people come from overseas to visit. They run courses and tours and host wwoofers. Joe has just come back from 3 months of promoting permaculture as a solution to peak oil in Austria (his country of birth) He has travelled to many countries around the world and we discuss some of the places he has been where they have alerady experienced the sort of collapse that western societies are likely to undergo when peak oil starts to bite
