The opening panel will look at Canadian imperialist ideology and colonial practice as historical foundations of the Canadian state. It will also explore the global nature and impact of colonialism and its repercussions on displaced and racialized communities. Finally, it will expose some of the facets and strategies used to resist Canadian imperialism, via the exploration of some contemporary initiatives, in a perspective of decolonization and self-determination.
