An Introductory Mindfulness Practice. Do not listen while driving!
This is an introductory mindfulness practice that helps the listener begin to disidentify from the the automatic flow of thoughts, feelings, and sensations in order to develop the inner witness or observer aspect of consciousness. The metaphor used here is a room in the heart. The listener is invited to regard thoughts, feelings, and sensations as little animals that want to come into the room. The idea is to let them in without judgment (thereby developing nonresistance), and to return to a centered state of presence and openness, using the breath as an anchor.
