Dr Judith Brown joins Tony and Martin to discuss hidden political, financial and media power and deceptive agenda of what she calls today's 'De-carbonisation Industrial Complex'. Hottest day ever allegedly recorded on the planet this week. UN Chief, Guterres, on what he sees as the present dangers of man-made climate change. Whilst it's been an exceptionally cold couple of summer weeks in Bristol.... Humanity suffering from 'extreme heat epidemic,' UN chief warns Humanity is suffering from an "extreme heat epidemic," UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned Thursday, calling for action to limit the impacts of heat waves intensified by climate change. "Billions of people are facing an extreme heat epidemic -- wilting under increasingly deadly heat waves, with temperatures topping 50 degrees Celsius around the world," he said. "That's 122 degrees Fahrenheit. And halfway to boiling." According to the European Copernicus network, July 21, 22 and 23 were the three hottest days ever recorded worldwide, with July 22 holding the absolute record of 17.16 degrees Celsius (62.9 degrees Fahrenheit). Guterres repeated his call for humanity to fight its "addiction" to fossil fuels. "Today, our focus is on the impact of extreme heat. But let's not forget that there are many other devastating symptoms of the climate crisis: ever-more fierce hurricanes. Floods. Droughts. Wildfires. Rising sea levels. And the list goes on," he said. "To tackle all these symptoms, we need to fight the disease. And the disease is the madness of incinerating our only home. The disease is the addiction to fossil fuels. The disease is climate inaction," he stressed, calling in particular on G20 countries to take action. While 2023 was the hottest year on record, and 2024 could set a new record, temperatures well above 40C (104F) are increasingly common. In the space of a year, the 50C threshold has even been exceeded in at least 10 places, from Death Valley in the United States (53.9C on July 7) to Agadir in Morocco, and also in China and India. The intense heat, often less visible than other devastating impacts of climate change such as storms or floods, is nonetheless more deadly. Judith recently completed an online course on climate science by David Siegal who is also a cryptocurrency and blockchain entrepreneur, as advertised on UK Column.
'Banking Nature' 2014 documentary by Sandrine Feydel and Denis Delestrac - carbon credits and offsetting pros and cons - land for growing trees taken off poor indigenous people. Drax power station security. Directed by Denis Delestrac and Sandrine Feydel "Buying landscapes, protecting landscapes, accumulating new landscapes-it's a phenomenal opportunity." -Steve Morgan, CEO, Wildlands Inc. BANKING NATURE is a film about the growing movement to monetize the natural world: to turn endangered species and threatened areas into instruments of profit. It's a worldview that posits capital and markets as the planet's salvation-turning nature into "natural capital." In this view, the best way to protect endangered species and habitats is to assign them dollar values and measure the "ecosystem services" they provide. These services can then be converted into securitized financial products. The results can be grotesque. In Uganda, we meet men who measure trees to determine how much carbon they store-and a banker from the German firm that sells the resulting carbon credits. Meanwhile, in Brazil, steel giant Vale destroys rainforest, replaces it with tree plantations, and reaps the benefits of environmental credits.A Can we trust the same people whose mismanagement of the mortgage market led to a global economic meltdown to safeguard nature, by turning it into financial instruments for speculators?
ITV - new coal mine planning latest at Whitehaven, Cumbria - court case. High Court hearing over controversial Whitehaven coal mine decision concludes Campaign groups say the original decision to approve the mine in 2022 was "unlawful". A High Court hearing into two legal challenges against plans for a controversial coal mine in west Cumbria has concluded. Planning permission was granted by the then Secretary of State for Communities, Michael Gove, for the Woodhouse Colliery site in December 2022, which was set to be the first new coal mine in the UK in 30 years. Campaign groups South Lakes Action on Climate Change and Friends of the Earth launched legal challenges, claiming that Mr Gove "failed to account for the significant climate impacts of the mine", rendering the decision unlawful. The department had been due to defend the claim, but on July 11, Friends of the Earth said the Government had withdrawn its defence and would no longer defend the claims. The hearing before Mr Justice Holgate concluded around midday with a decision in writing expected at a later date. Environmental campaigners gathered outside the High Court in London today. Credit: ITV Border News Outside the High Court, in London, environmental campaigners gathered to show their support. Among them was Maggie Mason from South Lakes on Climate Change. She said: “It's been so gruelling, it's been a really, really tiring three days, but to be honest it's at the end of a fairly tiring five years. "We really felt we had to do it, we had to put the effort in because there are local harms. "There are harms to Cumbria, there are harms to the whole globe." The lawyers for the developers, West Cumbria Mining, have been defending the decision. They argued that the mine's emissions will be overall net zero. They put forward the principle of 'substitution', meaning that if the coal is being extracted in Cumbria, it isn't being extracted elsewhere. If the coal was being extracted in the US, for example, then emissions would be higher because it would be transported further.
Technology to track people's carbon usage. London Climate Resistance Review - home owners charged per metre of driveway. Clean air zones. Buses axed in Bristol From contact tracing to carbon footprint tracking: WEF’s carrot or stick approach to COVID & climate policy With digital ID and CBDC, it would be easy to turn carbon footprint measurement into enforcement under a social credit system: perspective The World Economic Forum’s (WEF) carrot or stick approach to climate policies is virtually the same as it was for COVID. From COVID contact tracing and vaccine passports to carbon footprint tracking and measuring, the end goal is practically identical — to develop the technological foundation to track and trace every person and object on the planet in order to incentivize, coerce, or otherwise manipulate individual human behavior. Take the latest WEF Annual Meeting of the New Champions, aka “Summer Davos,” that took place in China last month as the latest example of unelected globalists trying to nudge people towards changing their behavior by tracking the carbon footprints of the products they use. Speaking during a session called “How to Stay Within Planetary Boundaries — Carrot or Stick?” Ma Jun, the director of the Chinese NGO Institute of Public and Environmental affairs, said that the Chinese people were aware of tangible things like air and water pollution that they could experience with their own senses, but were less aware of climate issues (i.e. their carbon footprints), which were less tangible, but that measuring carbon footprints could be the solution. “On the climate side [China] is still lagging behind regions like Europe […] which can support very, very tough public policy on the climate side” Ma Jun, WEF, 2023 “In China, people’s awareness on the ecological side and on the pollution control side is much higher than the climate side,” said Jun, adding, “On the climate side, it’s still not quite there. We’re still lagging behind, say, regions like Europe, which can have such a high level of public awareness, which can support very, very tough public policy on the climate side.” China had one of the toughest, most Orwellian responses to COVID while simultaneously rounding up its Uighur population for internment in “re-education camps,” but this man is saying that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) can’t support tough policies on climate? At any rate, Jun went on to explain, “In China, the government have created this 30-60 commitment, but people haven’t really linked their daily lives with that, so how do we create those links? “It’s not like smog; it’s not as palpable as the water pollution and air pollution, so we need to create those [links].”...

Now Industry has been destroyed anarcho-capitalists are waging War on Agriculture - more money for solar farms £1000/acre than crops £150/acre. Net Zero 2030 - less farm animals. CMA says profit margins too high on energy. Glenn Beck podcast - The War on Farmers. Now the UK has been fully de-industrialised it's time to destroy farming and farmers, so private equity can buy their land up cheap - Farm profits slumped by 19% in 2023, says Defra report Eastern Daily Press 20th July 2024 Farm profitability fell by 19pc across the country last year, according to the latest government figures - illustrating the ongoing financial volatility in the sector. Defra's Total Income from Farming (TIFF) is a measure of the total profit from all UK farming businesses in a calendar year. The figure for England in 2023 was £4.5bn, a fall of £1.1bn from 2022. Defra says this decrease was mainly due to a 13.1pc fall in the value of crop outputs, which dropped by £1.5bn to £9.9bn. "Low commodity prices combined with a poor yield resulted in substantial decreases in the value of many crop items, with wheat seeing the largest decrease at £1.2bn less than in 2022," says the report. These decreases follow a spike in 2022, when high global costs pushed up commodity prices due to the war in Ukraine. Farming leaders said the latest statistics demonstrated the “volatile environment” in which food growers have been trying to make a living in recent years. National Farmers' Union (NFU) president Tom Bradshaw, who farms near Colchester, said: "We have moved from high commodity prices and soaring production costs in 2022 caused by the tragic situation in Ukraine, to much lower income figures in a weather-affected 2023, as commodity prices fell but production costs remained high." He added that, since the survey ended, farmers have been struggling with record levels of rain and flooding which has contributed to a “huge drop in confidence among farmers and put a real question mark over this year’s harvest”. “While farmers are well used to dealing with variation year on year, the volatility we’ve seen in the last few years isn’t sustainable," he said. “Food security is national security, and that’s why we need the new government to be prioritising food production in its policy-making.” Defra's figures show agriculture's overall contribution to England’s economy also dipped by £1bn to £10bn last year, an 8.7pc fall compared with 2022. Total livestock output in 2023 remained at £12.4bn, but there was a small increase in income from diversification, which rose from £1.321bn to £1.393bn.
EDF at Hinkley C nuclear power station want to off-set by 're-seaing' some of the Somerset levels. Government plan to ‘re-sea’ North Somerset | Neil Parish | Farming Britain - For rewilding on steroids, look at Somerset. The government believes that nuclear power station Hinkley Point will kill '800 acres worth' of fish. It wants owner EDF to offset that by flooding 800 acres of land with sea water. It wants EDF to re-sea the land. Experts say Hinkley Point C saltmarsh plan won't save fish ENVIRONMENTAL campaigners have accused EDF of 'deliberately avoiding' taking measures to prevent the killing of millions of fish at Hinkley Point C. The accusations come after EDF revealed plans to install an 800-acre wetland reserve near Bridgwater at Pawlett Hams as an alternative to an acoustic fish deterrent system. The previously proposed system would have used 280 speakers to make noise 'louder than a jumbo jet' 24-hours a day for 60 years in order to stop fish from swimming into the plant's cooling water system, and consequently being injured or killed. According to Fish Guidance Systems, who specialise in manufacturing equipment for such measures, fish under threat include cod and whiting, while migratory species such as Atlantic salmon and shad will have a 90% death rate if trapped in the nuclear processing. The group of experts say EDF now plans to ask for an IROPI (Imperative Reasons of Overriding Public Interest) to determine it should not have to pay for the system, as it argues it would further delay the completion of Hinkley and hold up the UK’s net zero plans. The group also said EDF's plans to develop salt marshes and wetlands nearby have not been researched in detail, or agreed with the relevant authorities. Dr David Lambert, Managing Director of Fish Guidance Systems said: “This in no way compensates for the enormous loss to the environment and ecosystem. "‘Like for like’ replacement is not achievable or scientifically possible. "Proposed measures will not replace the lost fish. "The Welsh government has previously estimated that 185 million fish a year could be killed - this is utterly unconscionable. “Given the January announcement that Hinkley Point C won’t now be up and running until at least 2031, they have plenty of time to explore options which would prevent unnecessary fish deaths and to look at developments in technology, which will absolutely refute all of their arguments.” Fish Guidance Systems also refuted claims by EDF that the acoustic fish deterrent would create a noise 'louder than a jumbo jet' - Dr Lambert said this claim was utterly untrue and that it will not impact any residents along the shore of the River Severn. An online public consultation on the plans has been open since Tuesday, January 9, and will close on Thursday, February 29 - feedback can be submitted via the Hinkley Point C website.

Farmer's protest in Cardiff - Farms Not Factories film. Rollout of DEFRA's SFI payment schemes causing ‘widespread uncertainty’ for farmers – report The changes have come at a time when extreme weather, market conditions and sudden rises in input costs are putting farms under immense pressure. Chopping and changing of schemes and initiatives is making is difficult for farmers, the National Audit Office has warned (Steve Parsons/PA) The rollout of new payment schemes for farmers is causing “widespread uncertainty and risks” for the sector, the National Audit Office has warned. The Farming and Countryside Programme aims to transition the UK’s agriculture sector post-Brexit to ensure profitable farms, food security and environmental health by 2028. Recommended by Under the scheme, the Environment Department (Defra) is phasing out EU direct payments to farmers, which were based on land area, and replacing them with agri-environment schemes, based on delivering environmental outcomes alongside food production, such as the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI). The changes have come at a time when extreme weather, market conditions and sudden rises in input costs are putting farms under immense pressure. Some stakeholders told us that farmers’ uncertainty over how schemes will develop and Defra’s caution over sharing information, in areas such as land-use change and the impact on food production and farm viability, are undermining trust National Audit Office report Defra has been taking an iterative approach, making changes and improvements to the new subsidy schemes over time. But the National Audit Office (NOA) released a 56-page report on Tuesday warning that chopping and changing has made it difficult for farmers to plan their businesses to remain viable, produce food and achieve the programme’s environmental goals. The spending watchdog said the take-up of the new schemes is rapidly increasing with 40,700 farmers signing up as of April 2024. Farmer satisfaction with the SFI has also improved over time and Defra achieved a “step-change” in the speed of processing applications from several months to an average of eight days, the report said. However, the department has failed to build farmer confidence, with just 35% saying they trust the department’s ability to deliver change, according to its findings. Almost half (48%) said they are not at all positive about their future in farming, the report warned. We will optimise schemes and grants in an orderly way, ensuring they produce the right outcomes for all farmers while delivering food security and nature recovery in a just and equitable way Defra has not yet provided a long-term view of how it expects the programme to develop, such as the balance of funding between different payment schemes. The NOA outlined concerns that unconstrained demand for the SFI, which pays farmers for basic actions to manage their land in a more environmentally friendly way, could “crowd out” funding for more ambitious, complex schemes like Country Stewardship, which pays farmers for specialist, bespoke actions. The report said: “Some stakeholders told us that farmers’ uncertainty over how schemes will develop and Defra’s caution over sharing information, in areas such as land-use change and the impact on food production and farm viability, are undermining trust.

Judith's Substack - The Control of Information. What is the Decarbonisation Industrial Complex worth? About $1.5 Trillion every year. 4 billion a day at least. Very powerful covert lobbying. Banker, businessmen and politicians form symbiotic trinity that speaks in harmony about the climate emergency. Carbon capture, solar farms, market in global assets, academic jobs, consultants, eco tourism, compliance lawyers, climate credit agencies. Lot of high paid jobs. Net Zero - what's the problem with it? Do we need it? No cost benefit analysis found. Concentrates on carbon, which dissenting scientists see as a red herring. Problems with heat measurement - most weather stations are now in urban areas, 100 years ago were in rural areas. Heat island effect. LTN restrict activities of citizens, usually without democratic mandate. Dissenters labelled climate deniers. Traffic fines increased ++++++ Traffic use only down 6% and this could be achieved by other methods, ie., free public transport. Some roads in LTN have reduced traffic but other roads have increased traffic and traffic queues, leading to increase in pollution in some roads. Farming restricted. Farmers oil costs have increased 5X plus even more bureaucracy. Cannot make a profit. Are being offered £250 an acre to rewild heir farms. Likely to cause severe food shortages. Net Zero aims to start phasing out cows and sheep after 2030, and reduce food imports. Devastating effect on available food. Some land is only suitable for pasture. Many countries relying on importing solar energy rather than cutting down on petrol use so fuel use continues. Migration increases due to carbon credits and solar farms throwing farmers off their lands. Also devastating for desert wildlife.

Washington gives Netanyahu ‘full backing’ to expand war on Lebanon: Report Netanyahu visits US. LBC Radio - 80% of Israelis disapprove of Netanyahu - Trump says won't send money to Israel. Washington gives Netanyahu ‘full backing’ to expand war on Lebanon: Report Hebrew media reports that the army is urging Tel Aviv that ‘now is the right time’ for escalation against Hezbollah and Lebanon Former Israeli intelligence and security official Yuval Malka told Hebrew media on 25 July that Washington has greenlit a wider war on Lebanon. “According to the information I received from the delegation and what I know, Netanyahu has received full legitimacy in the United States to wage a war in Lebanon,” Malka told Israel’s Channel 14. “When he arrives in the country, he is expected to head to the ‘Al-Bur’ in Al-Kiryah, and from there he will start the war in Lebanon,” he added, referring to a military complex that houses the headquarters of the Israeli army’s different corps. Netanyahu visited Washington this week for a speech in Congress and talks with officials. The Israeli army has reportedly signaled to the government that the time is ripe for an expanded war against Lebanon, according to a defense analyst for Hebrew media. “The Israeli army is prepared for a major ground maneuver in Lebanon and warns: Any delay will be in Hezbollah’s favor when there is progress in the background in negotiations to release the hostages,” said Amir Bohbot, military editor and senior defense analyst for Israeli news site Walla, on 24 July. “The Israeli army is sending a signal to the government – we are at the height of preparations for war in the north, and now is the right time,” he added. Citing sources, Bohbot says, “postponement for another year or two will lead to the rehabilitation and alignment of Hezbollah and all parties,” and that “the achievements of the Israeli army will be in vain … Hezbollah will have difficulty launching a campaign against Israel without the two division commanders [recently assassinated by Israel].” “The IDF confirms that the forces trained for the ground maneuver mission in Lebanon, including forces that have gained significant experience in the Gaza Strip, raise the IDF to a very high level of competence.”
Robert Kennedy JR - world problems not being dealt with properly. RFK Jr. reinforces possibility of winning 2024 after Biden drops out Robert F. Kennedy Jr. sees Vice President Harris as indistinguishable from President Biden. In a press conference on Sunday evening, the independent candidate reinforced that he is able to beat both former President Trump and Biden — despite Biden announcing hours earlier that he is exiting the race. In a nearly 30 minute address, Kennedy used critical rhetoric toward the government common in his stump speech, focusing heavily on Biden and Trump, while only occasionally ripping into Harris as an unknown entity. Democrats on Capitol Hill and party groups started coalescing around Harris after Biden offered her his endorsement just weeks before the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Harris, Kennedy said, “has never voiced any distinction between herself and President Biden,” when asked why he spoke about Biden as if he were still in the race. “We don’t know what she stands for,” Kennedy said. “According to her, she stands for everything that President Biden stands for.” The environmental lawyer referred to Harris, who pledged to “earn” what she hopes is millions of Americans’ votes in November, as a “war hawk” on China and Ukraine, and said that she has not made an imprint on U.S. domestic policy as VP. He predicted she wouldn’t meaningfully help lessen the country’s financial deficit, a particular area of focus for Kennedy. Kennedy also critiqued the process of moving away from Biden. He accused Democrats of embracing Harris as Biden’s successor because, in his estimation, “it’s the easiest way to hold onto the money.” The third-party candidate, who changed from the Democrat affiliation to run as an Independent, was referring to certain campaign finance rules that make transferring money from the incumbent president to his running mate possible during the election cycle.
Whitney Webb - how Peter Thiel, Bilderberg, convinced Trump t accept J D Vance who called him 'never Trump' and Hitler - will Trump be less of a warmonger? No. - big tech merged with security services - The billionaire who fueled JD Vance's rapid rise to the Trump VP spot — analysis Former President Donald Trump's selection of Ohio GOP Sen. JD Vance to be his running mate shows one thing remains constant, even in a presidential race upended by an attempt to assassinate one candidate and doubts about whether the other is fit to run: money in presidential politics is still king. Vance, a relative newcomer to national politics, has assiduously courted billionaires and Silicon Valley titans to bankroll his unlikely rise from bestselling memoirist of despair, drugs and generational poverty in Appalachia to a ticket that could seat him a heartbeat away from the presidency. During his rapid rise, he has emerged as an ardent and effective defender of Trump, putting an intellectual gloss on the former president's raw MAGA populism. But Vance may never have been in serious consideration for the No. 2 spot on the ticket had he not won elective office in a major Rust Belt state in the first place. And big donors, particularly from the tech sector, provided the rocket fuel he needed to advance in electoral politics. Vance's most prominent benefactor over the years is Peter Thiel, the iconoclastic tech pioneer and investor. Thiel hired Vance at his global investment firm in 2017, and then nurtured Vance's political rise, donating $15 million to his 2022 Ohio Senate campaign and helping him win a closely fought GOP primary before going on to capture the seat in the general election. Since then, Vance has received entrée to other tech mega-investors and was instrumental in organizing a $12 million fundraiser for Trump in June that included venture capitalists Chamath Paldihapitiya, an early senior executive at Facebook, and David Sacks, who was a key figure in developing Paypal, served as its COO and later founded the social networking service Yammer. Sacks previously chipped in $1 million of his personal fortune to a pro-Vance super PAC, according to FEC records. But it's the relationship with Thiel that has been the most consequential for Vance. Their personal and financial ties formed long before Vance formally entered politics.
'Accelerate or Die' documentary on Sky Arts - what is Accelerationism? - Nick Land. Nietzsche. Ayn Rand. Influenced by 4th Reich Satanic Nazis on LSD such as Nick Land. Accelerate Or Die! (part) 4th Reich Accelerationism LSD Trip, Perils Of Abandoning The Mixed Economy Geopolitics and the Occult The 4th Reich's Threat: 'Accelerate or Die!' Artist Jake Chapman explores whether capitalism and technology are already one and the same, accelerating towards an inevitable climax Accelerationism, amphetamine philosophy, and the Death Trip This is a story about dangerous ideas, and words’ magical power to heal and to harm. It’s about AI, Charles Manson, dubstep, Neo-Nazis, occultism, and a lot of amphetamine, but it’s mainly about Nicholas Land. In 1993, techno-feminist Sadie Plant set up a research unit in the philosophy department at Warwick University called the Cybernetic Culture Research Unit (CCRU). It wasn’t a ‘real’ academic centre — it didn’t have a large grant or any institutional status, it was just a piece of paper on a door. But the name drew people into its vortex. The dominant influence in the CCRU became a 30-year-old mid-career researcher called Nick Land — a fan of continental critical theorists like Deleuze, Guattari and George Bataille. Land and the CCRU mixed together cyberpunk, science-fiction, cryptocurrency, drugs and post-humanism, drained it through the mesh of continental theory, and created Accelerationism. Guardian journalist Andy Beckett has a good definition: Accelerationists argue that technology, particularly computer technology, and capitalism, particularly the most aggressive, global variety, should be massively sped up and intensified — either because this is the best way forward for humanity, or because there is no alternative. Accelerationists favour automation. They favour the further merging of the digital and the human. They often favour the deregulation of business, and drastically scaled-back government. They believe that people should stop deluding themselves that economic and technological progress can be controlled. They often believe that social and political upheaval has a value in itself.
Bangladesh internet blackout, coming to a Western country near you soon? Al Jazeera report - internet down in Bangladesh - Government attacking students. Bangladesh curfews, internet blackout batter economy amid quota protests.... All of that has brought the economy to a screeching halt amid high inflation and fast-depleting foreign reserves. In the past five days, Bangladesh’s economy has suffered losses amounting to more than $1.2bn, according to an estimate by the country’s business community. Aside from the shutdown of almost all industries, there were economic losses due to vandalism and arson attacks, including on the country’s lone metro rail system in Dhaka, and the national television network’s premises. Speaking to business leaders on Monday, Hasina blamed the internet blackout on opposition parties, alleging that their activists had ruptured internet cables across the country. She promised the internet connections would be restored soon. The internet blackout imposed on Thursday night has hit almost all businesses and industries. It has shut down e-commerce and f-commerce, which are Facebook-based businesses popular in Bangladesh. These sectors are estimated to be losing at least $5m in revenue per day. Shahab Uddin, vice president of the e-commerce Association of Bangladesh, told Al Jazeera that it’s not just the businesses that are taking losses. “People in the city got habituated to ordering everything online in the past few years. I also ordered most things, including groceries, online, and my daily life has become a struggle now.” Call centres are facing daily losses of at least $3m per day, Wahid Sharif, president of the Bangladesh Association of Contact Centres and Outsourcing Association, told Al Jazeera. More than two-thirds of the call centre industry’s revenue comes from serving global companies, and the reputational damage that this industry has suffered because of nearly five days of the ongoing internet blackout is “irreparable,” Sharif said.

Meanwhile the other nations, once more divided on this issue will be constrained to fight to the point of complete physical, moral, spiritual and economical exhaustion We shall unleash the Nihilists and the atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will from that moment be without compass or direction, anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view. This manifestation will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time.
