Class War Battlefield Podcast Episode 2024.02.00. Unpacking Why the Commonwealth Concept in Capitalism is Forbidden and Constantly Under Assault
With Clips from Tclim988, Connected Sociologies, Kristina Edgar, Knowledgia & Tobia
From Constitutional Crisis to discerning the Commonwealth Concept in Capitalism, these early 2024 episodes (including the ones already recorded and soon to be released), are going to tackle heavy topics. Admittedly, I don’t know enough about the Enclosure Movement, yet quick research has demonstrated how important the creation of enclosed land has been to the advancement of Capitalism, Colonialism, and Imperialism altogether. The Episode starts off with some personal house cleaning; for those who’ve been listening long enough, you probably know the podcast only ceased publication years ago; why it didn’t and a quick recap (or maybe even first telling) of CWB’s historical evolution prepares the listener for what will certainly be a year of continued growth and evolution on these Class War Airways. From there I state the summation of my research “the commonwealth concept” is always under attack from Capitalism. This basic reality was a statement Occupy Wall Street attempted to protest into the American Mind. Capitalism has a deep disdain and a toxic, even destructive, aversion to the Commonwealth – which ultimately places Capitalism at odds with the common good because in the final analysis the Commonwealth IS THE Common Good. To worry ones self about Social Welfare without being moved to create Social Wellness in political economy terms (Maslow’s Hierarchy has something to say about this); leaves both unachievable. Capitalism, which values property, commodification, and profit over all else, is driven by its benefactors and most ardent proponents; to destroy the Commonwealth, possess Common Lands and control the means toward creating the Social Welfare. This episode touches on these themes and more. Be sure to listen beyond Jackson Browne to hear a recording of all the references used in todays episode.
