Part 1 (February 21) - 4 Minutes:
Phil Taylor and Phil Conlon congratulate the World Health Organization's recognition of China's robust response to the Coronavirus crisis. U.S. media outlets have gone over the top in using the virus as an excuse to smear China, yet China has taken exemplary and energetic measures.
According to Taylor, the way U.S. media reports on the issue is "an attempt to reassert Western hegemony and authority."
Part 2 (February 28) - 4 Minutes:
Phil Taylor and Lynn Slotkin talk about how irrational behaviour here in response to the Coronavirus has caused suffering among some groups in Toronto. The potential pandemic threatens us all. Humanity needs to work together in a concerted manner, utilizing science to win the battle against the virus.
Phil plays an audio clip of a Canadian epidemiologist, who made helpful comments about the disaster response. We can learn from China's response, and implement the findings here. The operative phrase here is "mutual respect." Calm down, look at the science, and take care of yourselves. Go and support your restaurants in Chinatown.
