From JAPAN- 36 European youth are sailing from Amsterdam to attend the upcoming COP 25 climate conference in Chile. More than 10 million signatures have been collected urging a UN treaty that prohibits the development and possession of nuclear weapons. On Tuesday China marked the 70th birthday of the Peoples Republic with speeches and parades. Japan's Chief Cabinet secretary says that Japan and China share a crucial responsibility to work toward peace and prosperity in Asia. Hong Kong police fired live rounds at protestors on Tuesday.
From GERMANY- Protests followed the shooting of an 18 year old who had hit a policeman with a metal bar. The Saudi Crown Prince denied ordering the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi one year ago. In Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu faces charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust, casting doubt on his political future.
From CUBA- Trump sent more financial aid to Venezuelan opposition leader Guaido. The Colombian government fired two heads of intelligence following the presentation of fake photos that the president showed the UN as proof of Venezuelan support of Colombian rebels. Imprisoned formed president Lula da Silva sent an open letter to the Brazilian people saying his prosecutors should apologize to them for the damage they have done to the country. The Peruvian president dissolved congress, followed by the congress suspending the president for one year for moral incapacity.
From RUSSIA- On his program called Going Underground, Afshin Rattansi interviewed the Iranian Ambassador to the UN, Esmaeil Baghaei Hamaneh. They discusses Rouhani and Zarif's trip to the UN General Assembly, accusations that Iran was behind the Saudi Aramco oil field attack, why the attack was an act of defense by the Yemeni people, and why Rouhani hung up on Trump.
