After patiently enduring years of hectoring and interference in its internal affairs by various so-called NGOs acting on instructions from the US and other western powers, Burundi has rightly concluded that it must protect its sovereignty and national security by leaving the International Criminal Court. South Africa has come to the same conclusion while citing different specific issues. Lebani Tazira explains that Burundi has learned from history and does not intend to become a victim of western dictat.
