Our feature presentation today is an interview of journalist/author Max Blumenthal by radio journalist Abby Martin. The subject is his "take" on the current rebellion by Palestine's youth against the Israeli occupation, Israeli bullying, and Israeli fascism. Blumenthal is quite clear that this rebellion is not an intifada, so-called. He explains why, and discusses the rebellion's genesis and unique nature.

Before this, we shine some light on the American BDS campaign, its origins going back to the American Revolution and the Bill of Rights, and the Zionists' increasingly desperate battles to prohibit BDS, or at least impede it by blacklisting its adherents. Israel knows that it is increasingly being seen, correctly, as a pariah state throughout the world and is desperately fighting back. Its current gambit: a campaign to muzzle its critics.

Finally, in the context of this year's Olympic Games, we focus on the heroic efforts of Palestinian swimmer Mary al Atrash, and the cruelty of Israel's apartheid and its checkpoints which made her access to an Olympic-size pool, clearly preferable for Olympic training, almost impossible.
This Week In Palestine (a weekly part of Truth and Justice Radio) is an award-winning three-quarter-hour segment of news from Palestine and discussion of issues relevant to the Palestinians' struggle for freedom from Israel's brutal military occupation and colonization of their homeland. It speaks from the point of view of Palestinians and those who care about them. It's a regular part of Truth and Justice Radio, aired Sundays 6-10am ET on WZBC 90.3FM, Newton, MA, streaming and archived for two weeks at wzbc.org; TJR's website, truthandjusticeradio.org, has a link to This Week In Palestine archives back thru 1-6-2008; editions are also accessible at radio4all.net or by navigating through our playlists. (At this important time, TJR has been airing Palestine coverage IN ADDITION to that provided by This Week In Palestine.) We hope you'll write to us at stanrob@world.oberlin.edu if you rebroadcast our work, or have questions or comments.
